The Dakotas New album and Tour

The Dakotas are out on a major UK Tour and at the same time see's the bands first new album featuring new lead singer Paul Rafferty.

We speak to The Dakotas about this album and tour.

1 I know The Dakotas will be touring with a brand new album Destiny, when you think about the tracks on the CD how did you decide what songs to record.

we used some of the new songs we've worked into the act since Paul joined the band earlier in the year and also included rerecordings of a couple of the BJK & Daks hits too. What we really wanted as well, was to start including some more original material so we now have a reworking of Falling From Heaven, written by Toni, a fantastic song called Free To Leave written by Paul, and the title song Destiny, written by the whole band!

2 You are about to do a major UK Tour, who are you touring with and backing on stage?

This tour has the same line-up as the 2007 tour - The Searchers, The Merseybeats, and we back Wayne Fontana & John Walker of the Walker Bros - so as well as our own short intro spot, we get to play some great classic songs again!

3 Will fans be able to buy the CD at the on the tour?

The new Cd "Destiny" will be ready just intime for the tour start on 27th Feb - and hopefully people will want to hear this one - it's our best yet!

4 Anything else you would like to add?

Thanks to everyone who's come along to the gigs over the last few months and said some really nice things about the new line-up!
see you on the tour!
